After some of the worst rioting in years, residents of Clapham are waiting for forensic teams to finish so that they can clean their streets. Some of them are students, some are men and women who have taken a day off to help. These are true Londoners.
To wild cheers from the crowd, a man hangs some bunting across the street.
In moments of cynicism I wonder where street photography is a valid art form. The late Vivian Maier’s portfolio convinces me that it is. http://vivianmaier.blogspot.com/
Here’s some work from a recent trip to London.
I have recently returned from England, where I enjoyed Christmas and New Year’s with my dear family. The following two photographs are the beginnings of a series of portraits of my parents and my siblings. In these photographs, I hoped to capture something of my mother’s warmth, and my sister’s elegance.
A trip to the British Museum’s Egyptian section led to this photograph. It struck me for the first time today just how strange it is, that a number of rotting corpses are stared at each day by thousands of museum-goers.
I’ve spent the last few days enjoying Lyme Park in the North of England. My Aunt and Uncle’s farm provides a welcome break from the gray cityscape of London. I’ve also been enjoying a lovely new gift – my first macro lens!
I absolutely love my Uncle and Aunt’s farm in Lyme Park, England. It really is one of my favorite places, because moments in front of fires like this, and because I have very fond memories of family and laughter there.
