Street Photography II, or, ‘In the Metro’

This, the second post in a street photography series, focuses on the Parisian metro, and the characters found in it.

These are two of the more controversial photographs I’ve taken.

Little Girl

When was first commissioned to produce a photograph, I worried that I would lose both my integrity as an artist and passion for the art. I had spoken with professionals who had once loved photography, but had reduced it to a simple nine to five, and no longer found pleasure in it.

Since working as a freelance photographer over the last few years, on the contrary, the experience has sharpened my images.

I was recently asked if I would photograph a friend’s daughter. This was my favourite image from the afternoon together.
